There is no doubt that Simon and Garfunkel represent one of the central musical duos of the late 1960’s and helped to fashion the outlooks and attitudes of the era as much as Bob Dylan, the Beatles, and many others. Having released five albums between 1965 and 1970, Simon and Garfunkel participated in many of the key events of the era: the expansion of interest in folk and its social themes, criticisms of the Vietnam War, and creating the soundtrack of 1967’s The Graduate—a movie which is acknowledged as having profound effects upon the culture.

This website offers several avenues to learn more about Simon and Garfunkel’s music and the role it played in their time. Hopefully, it will demonstrate why they are considered to be such a leading symbol of the 1960’s era.
