| The granite outcropping of Stone Mountain with its famous carvings and view of the city has made the large park there an important Atlanta attraction. The ruins of an old mill burned during the Civil War now a part of Sweetwater Creek Park on the outskirts of the city. The Chattahoochee river runs from North Georgia right through Atlanta and you can very easily visit parks along it right off the highway for a day of flycasting or kayaking. On the west side of Atlanta are the giant roller coasters of Six Flags Over Georgia. |
