I've visited Baltimore several times for work conferences since our national World Relief headquarters is located there. Central to the city is its famous and bustling inner harbor. It is also full of interesting historical neighborhoods and boasts a rich maritime tradition. (2002,04,08)

The USS Constellation is one of many historic ships resting in the harbor. Baltimore is full of historic neighborhoods with colorful crowded brick buildings such as the view of Fells Point seen here. The inner harbor, center point of downtown Baltimore, is surrounded by restaurants and shops. Another historic section of Baltimore called Mount Vernon with a monuments to Washington and Lafeyette and a Methodist cathedral. The battle of Fort McHenry inspired Francis Scott Key to write the 'Star Spangled Banner' and you can walk the "o'er the ramparts" of this historic monument today.
