After several trips to France, I finally made my way up from Paris to Monet's house and gardens in Giverny. I was well rewarded for the trip by not only getting to see Monet's place but a wonderful set of old houses settled in the green hills of this secluded part of Normandy. (2004)

Monet's colorfully bright house and studio in Giverny. Part of the large gardens in the back of Monet's house that were the subject of many of his paintings. Also behind Monet's house is a large Japanese garden which was the source of his famous paintings of the lilypads and bridges. Also in Giverny are several nice old homes including this ivy covered building. This old farmhouse epitomizes the rustic style of rural Normandy.
