Helen is an oddity of a town in North Georgia; designed to resemble a Bavarian German mountain village, it is full of half-timbered buildings, biergartens, and pretzel stands. Despite the kitschy premise, it's actually a fairly popular spot with its setting right on the Chattahoochee River and it boasts a very popular and packed out Oktoberfest every year.

It wouldn`t be a German town without good chocolate and Helen doesn`t disappoint as it is full of candy shops and chocolate makers.Helen is full of artisans including a glass shop where you can watch them shape delicate figurines. A popular summer venture is tubing down the Chattahoochee River from Helen where it starts as a calm and running stream.
