After my first stay as a student in Paris, I grew to feel very comfortable in the city and have friends who I enjoy going back to visit. I hope my returns there can be a regular thing! (1996,2003,07) |
| There's a whole history behind "la metropolitaine" of Paris that can be seen in the various "Metro" signs all over the city. Once a palace and now a museum, here's a shot of the Louvre, home of Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo, along with I. M. Pei's glass pyramids. Here is part of the Jardin de Luxembourg with the Senat behind. The Sacre Coeur basilica at the highest land point in the Montmartre section of Paris. The famous cabaret showplace of the Moulin Rouge. Vestiges of the old Roman colony of Lutece that would later be Paris still exist throughout the city including this old arena where people now go to play boules. |
