| The Grande Arche in the modern part of Paris where I lived as a student for five months. A picture of the July Column, site of the Bastille prison stormed in 1789 and start of the French revolution. A slightly different perspective of the Eiffel Tower as I am on my way up to the top. Formerly a palace and most famously a prison, the Conciergerie was the site of many executions following the revolution. Entrance to the Sorbonne in Paris, one of the oldest universities. Under Paris are countless old tunnels and caverns, some that are used to house hundreds of thousands of bones from old cemeteries. |
