8/12/03: "We visited the CO class again today as well as stopping by UNHCR for a brief talk with the representative there.  Afterwards, Issack and Habeeba took use to the Maasai Market --- a weekly open air curios market near downtown Nairobi.  Supposedly it's a number of Maasai women coming to sell thing, but it's actually a huge number of the same traders selling things in shops around the town. (Some of them recognized me from having gone by the curios kiosks in the Westlands.)  The market area itself was massively packed with people.  It was good to be with two local Kenyan because there were able to hard bargain my purchases down.
