Refugees gathering for information outside the IOM compound

"We toured the office compound a bit which is in a double fenced, razor wired, police guarded compound. All the security arises from tension between the refugees and the locals (sometimes over livestock which is a volatile issue for that population) which had recently broken into fighting and the deaths of a number of people.  One person noted that their livestock are so important that they would kill you if you even accidentally killed one which may--or may not---have been an exaggeration."

"We visited several offices to learn of their role in the process and working of the camp.  It's amazing the number of organizations involved and the degree to which they operate together in an integrated fashion.  This huge mechanism becomes an obvious need, however, when you see and realize the full size of the camp."
